Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has rebutted talks claiming his side wants to sign Liverpool defender Adam Lallana this season.
The former Liverpool legend is eyeing his first silverware with the Scottish side since taking the helm this season.
Lallana has long been sidelined with injury and has only featured three times in Klopp’s team.
But lack of game time has linked him with a move to join the Scottish side, but Gerrard has played down reports linked him with the Ibrox outfit.
“There’s no truth in either”. Gerard replied when asked of a move for the English star.
Rangers are looking to snatch the title away from holders Celtic and have been able to steal away Jermaine Defoe from the Premier League, including Davis, however, since hearing about talks floating about in the media that Rangers are keen on adding Lallana to their side, Gerrard believes it is unlikely to happen.
Gerrard said: “I think he’s a top, top player. If Rangers get him, they’ve got an even better chance to snatch the title away from Celtic.”
“But he is a top, top player. If Rangers pull that off, I’ll need to give them a handshake.”
Lallana is still trying to shake off his injury and is back in training. Whether he is due for a full comeback, Klopp says only the training session will tell, but it’s unlikely he will leave Anfield.
