Jose Mourinho is not just looking to bolster his squad ahead of the upcoming season, he is poised to keep his current crop of players.’
The Portuguese tactician has ruled out a possible transfer of Man United goalkeeper David De Gea to Real Madrid, reports BBC.
Since the departure of Iker Casillas, Los Blancos have been on the chase of David De Gea and he was closed to a move to the Spanish Club in the penultimate season until a faulty fax machine scuppered his proposed move on deadline day.
The Bernabeu outfit are yet unrelenting in the chase of the player and he has himself informed Jose Mourinho of his desire to play for the Spanish Club.
However, Mourinho revealed that the playing will stay put at Old Trafford this term.
“I can guarantee he is not going this season,” the United boss said.
MOurinho also referred to last summer when De Gea was close to a Madrid move.
“The club was closed, but when a player has a desire to go, I don’t stop them. So, we opened it and they [Real] decided to close.” He added.
Meanwhile, Man United got the better of Real Madrid in pre-season friendly and the Club will be hoping to continue in the same stead as they prepare for the upcoming season.
While he has ruled out a move for De Gea, Man United are heavily linked with a move for Ivan Perisic, and Inter Milan are waiting for the right offers to be made for the player before he is allowed to leave.
De Gea is valued at 40,00 Mill. € according to transfermarkt.
