Decided: Coach confirms €35m-rated Man United target will be at Club next season

Manchester United players must be exuding confidence after they got the better of Real Madrid in a pre-season tour which ended in favour of the Red Devils abeit the victory came via penalty shoot out after they drew 1-1 at full time. Despite winning the game, Mourinho is not confident his midfield can fire United back to the Glory days.

Man United are on the look out for a midfielder and after seeing efforts to sign  Nemanja Matic and Eric Dier hit the brick walls, Jose Mourinho has turned his attention to Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal but Bayern Munich manager Carlo Ancelotti has ruled out a move for the player this summer, according to reports.

Vidal was heavily linked with a move to Man United during the days of Dutch manager Luis Van Gaal at the helms for United but he favoured to switch Bayern Munich from Juventus at that time. The 30-year-old midfielder is not new to United;s advances.

“For Vidal, there is no way,” Ancelotti said. “He’s our player and I have a lot of confidence in him.

“I know there are rumours and we’re used to rumours. He’ll stay with us 100 per cent – I’m confident about that.”

Jose Mourinho inherited a Man United with several options for the midfield position but since offloading Morgan Schneiderlin, Bastien Schweinsteiger and Wayne Rooney, he’s yet to replace them.

Ander Herrera and Paul Pogba are having a good partnership in midfield but Mourinho is looking to give Ander Herrera competition but his desire to sign Vidal is just a pipe dream.

Vidal is valued at 35,00 Mill. € by transfermarkt.
