Liverpool have bolster their squad of a grueling upcoming season but German tactician Jurgen Klopp is not ready to come-off the transfer window as he continues to build a title-contending team for the Reds.
The Reds are ready to make a €17million bid for French and Rennes holding midfielder Benjamin Andre, reports the Express.
The departure of Brazilian tough-tackling midfielder Lucas Leiva has left a void in the midfield of the Reds and Liverpool have been on the search of a player that will come in his stead. The Anfield outfit have tried to sign RB Leipzig midfielder but their efforts have only hit the brick wall.
Andre has been on the transfer radar of Liverpool for some time now as the Reds have had their scouts watching the 27-year-old. The holding midfielder was dubbed as the interception king of the Ligue 1 last term as he ended the term with 329 interceptions.
The player has now emerged as top target for Klopp who is looking to add dexterity to his midfield. Liverpool will be playing in the Champions League next term and Klopp is looking to expand his squad to meet the demands of playing in more than a competition.
Andre joined Stade Rennais in the summer of 2014 having spent six years with Ajaccio. He has imposed himself as one the best kept secret of Ligue 1. He could just become the next N’golo Kante.
