The countdown for the close of the transfer window has begun and it appears that Liverpool have woken up from their slumber. The Reds reportedly completed the signing of Naby Keita from RB Leipzig on Monday, they have been heavily linked with a move for Thomas Lemar and Virgil Van Dijk. However, latest reports have indicated that we are favourites to sign Portuguese and Bayern Munich midfielder Renato Sanches.

Sanchez had an impressive outing with the Portuguese national team as they conquered the European Championship in France last summer and he appeal to Bayern Munich for a deal. The Portuguese star has struggled with life at the Alianz arena has he has been a bit part player. The signing of James Rodriguez from Real Madrid further pushed him down the selection pecking order of Carlo Ancelotti.

According to German media outlet Bild, the Bavarian club will not stand in the way of the player as he searches for a move in a bid to salvage his career and Liverpool have emerged as front runners to sign him on a season long loan deal.

Liverpool have bolstered their squad this season but they are yet to replace Lucas Leiva. Sanches could fill the void for this season as the arrival of Keita next season might push him away.

The youngster is valued at 22,00 Mill. € according to transfermarkt.
