Chelsea had a forgettable start in the Premier league and it was blamed on the lack of options available to Antonio Conte on the bench. The Blues had conquered the league last term with a thin squad and not much have changed this season even after the signing of three out-field players.
Despite the dearth of transfer activities at Chelsea, reports have indicated that Barcelona have open talks with Chelsea over a potential move Brazilian attacker Willian.
Since the arrival Antonio Conte to Chelsea last summer, Willian has been a bit-part player, coming off the bench more often than not and playing second fiddle to Pedro Rodriguez. Apparently, his chances of starring regularly is still bleak this season and Barcelona are keen on offering him an escape route to salvage his career.
Barcelona have been unable to get their prime Philippe Coutinho and even though they have signed Ousmane Dembele, they are still in the market for potent options in attack. According to Squakwa Chelsea will not stand in the way of Willian to complete a switch to Camp Now.
Manchester United were heavily linked with a move for Willian earlier in the summer but the move for him failed as Chelsea did not listen to offers for him.
“Manchester came to me, they talked with my agent, but nothing happened, because Chelsea would not negotiate me in any way and I’m very happy at Chelsea.” Willian earlier in the summer of Man United’s interest.
Chelsea are having to compete in the Champions and Premier league, they cannot afford to lose Willian, who created 50 chances in the league last season.
The 29-year-old is valued at 32,00 Mill. € according to transfermarkt.
