Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen has just 18 months left to run on his contract at Wembley and an extension between the attacker and Spurs has dragged too wide.
Chelsea, however, surprisingly have been credited with an interest in the hot star according to Spanish outlet AS.
Eriksen who joined Spurs from Holland outfit Ajax was purchased for 11.5 million pounds in the summer of 2013, should have joined Blues at a young age but turned his back when the west Londoners thundered down to sign him.
Chelsea interests have not waned and the Blues are still keen on chasing the attacking midfielder.
Eriksen has registered 78 assists and netted 62 goals in 258 matches for Tottenham and has remained a fabric of Mauricio Pochettino’s squad.
Barcelona are reportedly tailing the player very closely as they eye a possible swoop for the star. The Catalans lost playmaker Andre Iniesta to Japanese side Vissel Kobe last season, and are strongly keened to find his replacement.
Manchester United and Real Madrid have also been linked with a move to sign the 26-year-old as the Spanish galaticos plan an overhaul of old players this term.
Eriksen has been capped 86 times for Denmark since making his debut in March 2010.
