The Arsenal fans are keen on hearing the latest update on Thomas Lemar but it looks as though Arsene Wenger has other plans.
According to a report from Spanish source Dario Gol, it is claimed that Arsenal have entered the race to sign Real Madrid forward Lucas Vazquez. It is posited that the Gunners have lodged a bid for the 26-year-old who is yet to convince Zinedine Zidane that he deserves a regular starting berth in the first team of Los Blancos.
The likes of Isco and Gareth Bale are all above him in the totem pole of forwards at the club. He featured in 33 La Liga games last season which was mainly due to the injury sustained by Bale. However, going into the new season promises to be tough for him since the Wales international is back and looks set to claim his spot on the flank.
Summer signing, Dani Ceballos from Real Betis is bound to offer stiff competition for game time, and that may force Vazquez to finally call time at Santiago Bernabeu.
He has been tipped for a move to the Premier League, with Arsenal ranking top amongst the clubs reportedly vying for his signature. However, Arsenal have a battle on their hands since Liverpool are also said to be keen on the winger. The Reds are preparing for life after Coutinho, hence the need to sign a replacement.
Meanwhile Roma are also interested in the star whose contract with Madrid remains valid until the summer of 2021
