We are less than one week to the close of the transfer window and despite the report of a huge chunk of fund available to Antonio Conte, he is yet to have a breakthrough in his quest to reinforce his current squad.
Chelsea are close to a deal for England international and Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater, this is according to report.
The Blues have been heavily linked with a move for Drinkwater and even made a £25m bid for the star which was thrown out by the Foxes. However, new report according to the Sun claim Chelsea have increased their bid and they are now willing to fork out as much as £32million to secure to star.
The former Man United man is willing to make the move and there is indications that if his £40million is met, the Foxes will not stand in his way.
Chelsea sold Nemanja Matic to Man United after completing the signing of Tiemoue Bakayoko from Monaco but this has left Conte short of options in midfield and is in on the look out for a midfielder. Should Drinkwater complete the move, he will play second or maybe third fiddle to Fabregas.
Chelsea are yet linked with a move for wingers and defenders but Conte is poised to make new signings before or on deadline day of the window.
