Since the signing of Alvaro Morata, Chelsea have been scampering for a fifth recruit but all their efforts have been meted with outright rebuff.
The Blues were linked with a plethora of players but reports have indicated that we made an offer of £63m for Italian and Torino striker Andrea Belotti but it was rejected by the Turin side.
Belotti enjoyed an awe-inspiring season for Torino last season in which he scored 26 goals and racked up seven assists in 36 appearances and he was heavily linked with a move away from his club, with Chelsea credited with interest even before they signed Alvaro Morata.
According to the Metro, Chelsea offered £63million to Torino to sign Belotti but it was short of the player’s £88m release clause. The report has claimed that Antonio Conte is an admirer of the star.
Chelsea have already signed on four players and Morata was added to lead the attack of the Blues. However, the squad of the Blues is looking thread bare and we could do with more signing. Mitchy Batshuayi is expected to play second fiddle to Morata in the attack but his show-off for the Blues this season has been short of impressive.
The Blues had a forgettable Premier League start against Burnley but they will be looking to bounce back against Tottenham on Sunday.
