Scottish club Celtic are weighing on a deal for Man United midfielder Scott McTominay, who is likely going to move on a loan spell until the end of the season, per reports.
Under Jose Mourinho, McTominay showed glimpses of top-notch quality but he has been unable to stake a claim in the team of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. He has featured in only four League games for United this season and may not develop properly if he doesn’t get adequate game time.
His current deal with Man United runs until 2021 but the club are still deciding if they should allow him leave this window, albeit on a loan deal.
The decision to allow McTominay stay or leave would be influenced by Marouane Fellaini, whose future at the club is full of speculations.
He extended his contract with Man United in the summer by two years but he is out-of-favour under Solskjaer.
There are claims United would accept a paltry fee for the transfer of Fellaini but that may be in the summer.
Meanwhile, Celtic have been linked with a move for McTominay but it is left to be seen where he ends up.
