Deal close: Liverpool agree £75m fee for classy creative midfielder

Jurgen Klopp led the Reds to a fourth placed finish on the Premier League log but he wants to go one better in the upcoming season.

Liverpool have been heavily linked with a move RB Leipzig Naby keita and after seeing several bids rebuffed for the midfield schemer, the Reds are prepared to offer £75million as a final straw to get the player, according to reports.

The Anfield giants have had Keita at the helms of their transfer radar and despite offering  £57m and £66m to the player’s Club for his signature, Liverpool have seen their bids thrown out by the Bundesliga Club.

Klopp is currently short of midfield options following the departure of  Lucas Leiva and the German tactician believes Keita is a perfect fit for his midfield set up. Keita is liken to Deco and he would relieve Coutinho of the burden of creativity.

Liverpool have the Champions League and English domestic competitions to contend with, Klopp is condemned to bolster his squad in order remain competitive. Mohamed Salah, Dominic Solanke and lately Andrew Robertson have joined the Reds.

According to the Independent, Liverpool are willing to fork out as much as £75million for keita as they believe the Bundesliga side will be let him leave for that sum. The report further stated that the Reds will pay £40m upfront subject to the agreement of other clauses.
