Deal close: La Liga club agree £40m move for Arsenal prime target

Arsenal must pay £43.5million to sign their transfer long term target  Junior Firpo, this is according to emerging reports.

The left-full back has been one of the standout performers for Real Betis in recent times and he has attracted heavy interest to himself.

Barcelona, Manchester City and Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move for him following his impressive display since finding a place in the starting XI of the La Liga side. He has scored three goals and featured in 17 goals for his club this season.

According Spanish publication, Real Betis have decided to sell the 22-year-old but they will accept about £40million plus. He has a release clause of £43.5m, which could be triggered by any of his suitors.

Arsenal are currently looking thin in defence and Emery is expected to bolster this aspect of his squad. Although there are two established left backs at the club, we could do with another in the form of Firpo.

However, If Arsenal fails to act fast in their chase for the player, he could end up lacing his boots for Man City as it is given that his agent is Pep Guardiola’s brother. We wait to see how all of these pans out.
