Unlike their capital rivals Arsenal and Manchester United, Chelsea are yet to complete any signing this summer but we may just be set for a mega surprise signing.
According to emerging reports, Chelsea have made an offer for Spain and Real Madrid silky forward Marco Asensio.
Asensio started the La Liga season on bright note when he was played in the stead of Gareth Bale but as the season went by, his game time reduced and it was widely reported that he will consider moving away from the Santiago Bernabeu.
Following his barnstorming displays whenever he’s called upon to play for Madrid, Asensio will not be short of suitors but Spanish tabloid Diario Gol has claimed that the Blues have made the 22-year-old their priority target for this summer.
Real Madrid were inactive in the transfer market last summer but they expected to be heavily involved in the signing of players this time around. Asensio is wary of losing to his second-fiddle place to another new signing, and he is open to joining Chelsea.
According to Diario Gol, Chelsea are uncertain that Eden Hazard will stay put at their club and they are looking to replace him with Asensio.
Hazard has been on the radar of Real Madrid but the Daily Express has claimed that he could also end up with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.
Asensio is valued at 75,00 Mill. € according to transfermarkt.
