Deal close: Chelsea agree personal terms with £35m-rated skillful defender

Chelsea have been full of activities in this transfer window but the Blues have struggled to get their targets as it is given in the deal that saw Romelu Lukaku joined Man United.

The Premier League Champions have bolstered their squad with a defender and a midfielder and the imminent departure of Diego Costa leaves Conte condemned to sign an established striker. However, the Italian tactician has lined up Real Madrid defender Danilo as priority target for his backline.

According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Chelsea have made an offer for Brazilian and Real Madrid right back Danilo.

Danilo has been on the transfer radar of Chelsea since the start of the summer as Conte aims to provide competition and an option to Nigeria’s Victor Moses on the right side of his defense. Moses was blameworthy for Chelsea’s lose to Arsenal in the FA Cup final and there was no quality replacement for him.

Danilo, 26, plays second fiddle to Dani Carvajal at Real Madrid and this may affect his place in Brazil’s team as he sets his sight on the World Cup of next summer – he started in 17 La Liga games for Madrid last term and wants out of the Santiago Bernabeu to play regularly.

It is reported that he has already agreed personal terms with Chelsea and Di Marzio revealed that the Blues are on the cusp of landing the right back.

The fee offered by Chelsea was not stated but GFN understands that the player is tagged at £35million.
