Deal close: Chelsea advance talks to sign £20m-rated Liverpool prime target

It’s believed that Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is keen to add more qualities to his team despite the acquisition of Ross Barkley from Everton.

The coach publicly told reporters last month that he is not in charge of signing any player but he will like the board to add new players to his squad before the end of the month. According to Sky Italia, the Blues has been linked with a move for Roma attacking midfielder Emerson Palmieri who could cost the West London club a fee not less than £20million.

The Italian youngster is willing to work under his compatriot and he’s believed to force his way to Stamford Bridge before the close of the winter business.

Palmieri made his senior debut for the Italy national team in 2017 despite representing Brazil at youth level. He his rated £12million by transfermarket. co. uk and Mohamed Salah as reportedly asked Liverpool to sign him.

Having performed brilliantly for Brazilian side Santos during 2014-15 season, Palmieri joined Serie A club Roma in 2015 summer. He appeared in 36 League matches in his first season for Roma with just a single goal.

However, the 23-year-old defender has found it hard to break in Roma first-team this season after he recovered from his lengthy injury which he sustained at the start of the season. He has failed to come off the bench in the last seven matches played by Roma.

Palmieri is a strong defender who possess the capacity to be successful with the Blues should he finally complete his move to the Stamford Bridge.
