The loss suffered at the hands of Stoke City last weekend has alerted Arsene Wenger to the fact that he does not just need new signings, he has to keep his key players at all cost.
Arsenal contract rebel Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been offered new improved terms at Arsenal to ward-off interest from capital rivals Chelsea, this is according to report.
Chamberlain has a year to run out his current contract and he has stalled over a new deal. The Gunners offered the in-demand star a £100,000-a-week contract which he outrightly rejected.
The English star has been on the radar of Liverpool and Chelsea but the London club stepped their interest in the chase of the player last week as they look to prise him away from the Emirates.
However, Daily Star claims Arsenal have tabled a £125,000-a-week deal for him in a four year deal and the Gunners believe, he would snub his suitors to sign for them.
Conte is looking to bolster the wings of his squad and all his efforts to add wing backs have hit the rocks. Reports have indicated that the brass at Chelsea has offered him a £200m transfer war-chest and he is looking to spend it on new signings.
The Gunners are currently in a contract extension dilemma with some of their key players including Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez. Wenger will be hoping the players put pen to paper before the close of the transfer window.
