In the penultimate season, there was the general belief by the Gunners fans that the addition of a potent striker would make Arsenal more competitive and give them an edge in the title run. Arsene Wenger yielded to the voice of reason and bolstered his squad with a relatively unknown Lucas Perez.
The 28-year-old Spaniard joined Arsenal in £17.1million deal but he has only played sparingly for the Gunners and wants out of the Club, according to report.
Perez made his debut for Arsenal in their Premier League win against the Saints last September but he has struggled to get playing time ahead of the likes of Theo Walcott, Danny Welbeck and Alex Iwobi.
He has been heavily linked with a move to his former Club Deportivo Lacuruna but they have been unable to broker a deal for him as Arsenal are holding out for more. The player’s agent Rodrigo Fernandez Lovelle revealed that there’s currently an offer for the player but he’s waiting for the Gunners to sanction a deal for the player.
Speaking to La Voz de Galicia, he said, “I’m waiting for Arsenal to come back to me, but the best offer they have on the table for Lucas is from Deportivo.
“At Arsenal they know he’s going to play very little there and they know that Deportivo want him. It would be good for everyone to sell Lucas Perez.
“We have to convince them.”
We understand that the Branquiazuis have made an offer of €9million for the player but they are willing to offer more since Arsenal have reject it.
It is only fair that the player is allowed to move because he cannot get a place in the Arsenal’s team.
