Deal agreed: Croatian midfielder agree Chelsea transfer after receiving phone call

Chelsea FC have a chunk of their young players on loan across European clubs and the club is not holding back in the development of talented youngsters.

Croatia international and Chelsea midfielder Mario Pasalic has agreed a move to Seria A side Atalanta following a call from the club’s manager Gian Piero Gasperini.

The 23-year-old midfielder joined Chelsea in the summer of 2014 from Hajduk Split but he has spent his entire spell away from the club. He’s been loaned to Elche, Monaco, AC Milan, and he extended his contract by four years before moving to  Spartak Moscow on a season long loan spell last season.

Chelsea appointed a new manager who has already signed in Jorginho from Napoli. Despite now having a plethora of midfielders, the Blues are yet linked with a move for Aleksandr Golovin, which means they have no immediate plans for Pasalic to play in the senior team.

Pasalic has been heavily linked with a move to Fiorentina after the player gave them assurance that he would join them. Alas, Italian Journalist who works for Gazette dello Sport claims Atalanta has won the race to sign the player.

He twitted in Italian language and we were able to get a translation.

It is only a matter of when and not if Pasalic will leave Chelsea – Abramovich and  Marina Granovskaia are resigned to letting the player leave in a fair deal, and Atalanta have obviously made the better offer for his signature.

We wait to see how this develops.
