David Luis to Arsenal not Manchester United, Chelsea to agree £30m transfer

Arsenal are weighing up a £30million move for Brazil born Chelsea tough-tackling centre-back, David Luiz, this is according to report.

Luiz entered the black books of Antonio Conte following a shabby performance against Roma in the Champions League. He was accused of not playing to instruction and left on the bench in subsequent matches.

Chelsea academy product Andreas Christensen has been preferred over Luiz in recent games and there are talks of an improved contract offered to him.

Speaking on Christensen, Chelsea’s loan technical coach Eddie Newton said: “Andreas is a player that we can definitely have here for the next 10 years. He is another John Terry for me, and has that same kind of stature because he has got that ability.

Although, there are claims that Conte ane Luiz have met over his situation at Stamford Bridge, he has been linked with a move away  from the club.

Manchester United have been recently linked with him but Juventus and Real Madrid are also said to be heavily attracted to the Brazilian.

However, Express Sports have claimed that Arsene Wenger has lined up Luiz as one of his prime targets for the January transfer window.

Luiz has played as a defensive midfielder and a centre-back and the reports claims his versatility is the major attraction for Wenger, who is looking to tighten up his midfield and defence in January.

Arsene Wenger has been unable to convince Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez to sign new deals with the club but if he is able to lure a star like David Luiz to the Emirates, it might go a long way in ensuring that they stay at the club.
