Manchester United might lose their first choice goalkeeper David de Gea, to Real Madrid should the Spanish giants agree to pay him a total sum of €12million per year.
According to The Mirror, Ge Gea seems to have made up his mind to leave Old Trafford in January if Real Madrid are ready to make him one of the club’s highest paid player.
Real Madrid are reportedly in search of a goalkeeper who will replace Keylor Navas in January as the Costa Rican goalkeeper wants to leave the Santiago Bernabeu.
De Gea was bought by Manchester United from Atletico Madrid for a British record fee for a goalkeeper of approximately £18.9 million as a replacement for ageing and retiring Edwin Van der Sar during Sir Alex Ferguson’s reign as the Red Devils manager. He has a contract with the club until 2019.
De Gea has appeared in 302 matches for Manchester United since making his debut in a 3–1 friendly win over Chicago Fire in 2011. He became the first goalkeeper in Premier League history to made 14 saves in a single match after he showed his quality in goal against Arsenal last weekend.
De Gea 27, was rested in the Champions League match against CSKA Moscow. It is believed that José Mourinho rested the player ahead of derby match against Manchester City.
Real Madrid are also reportedly monitoring Thibaut Courtois who has stalled his contract talk with Chelsea.
