United bounced back from a draw in the Premier League last weekend after conquering Young Boys to progress to the round of 16 of the Champions League. They now have a task to replicate the same form when they take on Southampton in the League today.
United have had a forgettable start to life in the League this term but they are looking to build momentum ahead of the hectic schedule that is forthcoming. A win against the Saint will put them in good stead psychologically.
Southampton are currently struggling to find their footing this season. They have only managed to win one game since the start of the season, and so we don’t think they pose real threat to United amassing three points.
Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku was left out of the starting XI that won Young Boys but for today’s game, it will be interesting to see how the Red Devils line up.
Man Utd Injuries
Victor Lindelof is ruled out of this one and is expected to return during the festive period.
Alexis Sanchez also sustained an hamstring injury in training and he is likely to miss today’s game and the one against his former club Arsenal.
