Atalanta midfielder Frank Kessie who currently plays for AC Milan after completing his winter loan move to the Serie A giants has told newsmen that he dreams of featuring in United’s team under José Mourinho’s watch before the end of his career.
The highly-rated midfielder revealed to the Daily Mirror that he would love to switch to Old Trafford in the nearest future as he wants to player under the Portuguese manager. The player has been loaned out to two different clubs by Atalanta, and the club are willing to cash-in on the player who will be surplus to requirements in the summer.
“I did not hear any rumours around Roma, as I was at the Africa Cup of Nations and so focused only on playing,” Kessie told Tuttomercatoweb.
“I like the Premier League and in particular Manchester United, the club I dream of playing for.
“Chelsea is also a great club, no one would refuse it, but I dream of United.”
Kessie is one of the regular players in Milan as he has proven to be a strong and no-nonsense holding midfielder for the team despite their awful performance so far this season.
Kessie further claimed that he believes in his abilities which would make him a perfect solution to José Mourinho’s midfield problems should the Portuguese succeed in bringing him to Old Trafford.
José Mourinho had earlier revealed during last month’s transaction period that he won’t chase after any striker in the summer.
The former Chelsea manager is set to upgrade his midfield and defense quality when the transfer window opens. Kessie could cost the 20-time Premier League Champions around £30m as he is highly-rated by Atalanta despite avoiding him the chance to prove himself.
Roma have earlier shown interest in the player, but nothing materialised as the Serie A side are not ready to pay more than €30m for his service, according to Football Italia.
