The future of every Club is primarily hinged on the investment they make within their youth set up. No one Clubs like Barcelona, Manchester United and Madrid’s of this world ensures continues to search for starlets that will take over from the stars of today.
Chelsea have beaten arch Premier League rivals Arsenal to the signature of Rangers wonderkid Bill Gilmour, this report is according to the Express.
Gilmour had agreed to join Chelsea in May amid interest from a host of Premier League Clubs including Arsenal. As typical with the Gunners, despite their interest, they failed to react on time but a pragmatic Chelsea saw off the deal.
Scottish Club Ranger were unwilling to sell him but the youngster refused their contract offers in favour of a move to Stamford Bridge.
Confirming the move, Gilmour granted an interview with the SFA performance school and he said:
“It’s always been my dream to go to the Premier League and what better club to go to than the champions.
“They have a very successful youth and I’ve always wanted to play best vs best and all the best players are at Chelsea. I want to go to the highest standard and see where I go.”
He was heavily criticised for the Chelsea move because his chances of starring for the Blues is bleak and he may not even break into the first team of the squad. On the contrast, Arsenal have a history of churning out youngsters from their academy and giving them the chance to play, with the latest being Alexander Iwobi.
We wish the lad good luck and hope he ascends the grades of the London Club.
