There a quite a chunk of quality players at Arsenal, whose future remains a subject of huge speculation. While he is been linked with a move away from Arsenal, England international Jack Wilshere has delivered the latest on his future with the Gunners with claims that he’ll continue to fight for a place in the club, per reports.
Wilshere was loaned to Bournemouth by Arsenal last season. He shone from the start of the season until the second half where he picked up an ankle injury that kept him out of action until the end of the season.
He was unable to travel with the Gunners squad for their pre-season tour in Asia as he was recovering from the injury. Wilshere has since returned but he has been unable to secure a place in the starting XI of the Gunners, and he is unlikely going to be called up to the Three Lions squad for World Cup.
The 25-year-old midfielder has been a regular starter for the Gunners Europa league team but he failed to impress last night in Arsenal defeat to German side FC Koln. It is reported that he will consider a move away from Arsenal when the January transfer window comes alive.
However, he was quizzed by news men and Wilshere claims he wants to stay put at Arsenal and fight for his place in the squad.
He said, “Of course I want to be playing. It’s difficult when you play every three weeks.
“It’s the same as every player.
“I’m still determined to win my place back, I’m working hard and we’ll see what the future holds – if I can get in or I can’t.”
