Bordeaux president Stephan Martin has debunked speculations surrounding the future of their youngster Malcolm who earlier told reporters in his homeland that he could move out of the struggling Ligue 1 side in the summer.
Stephen told reporters that the club are yet to guarantee his move away from the club in the summer as they still need to discuss whether to sanction or prevent his proposed move to either Tottenham or Arsenal ahead of next season.
“We did not not promise anything,” said Martin, according to Tribal Football.
“We will review his case this summer, for sure. He made no secret of his desire to leave.
“We’ll talk about it again this summer.”
The Brazil Under-23 international joined Bordeaux from Corinthians — a Brazilian club — in 2016 and has since established himself as an integral part of the team despite his young age. He has scored only 19 goals in 85 matches since he moved to the Ligue 1 side, but that didn’t take anything away from his overall performance.
Arsenal and Tottenham are the two clubs who earlier showed their desire to work with the youngster, but their bids were rejected by Bordeaux’s sporting director as they insist on keeping him at the club in order to help them avoid being relegated at the end of the season.
According to Tribal Football, Manchester United boss is also considering adding the player to his team despite claiming that he has no reason to sign a new attacking player in the summer due to the quality of the attacking threat his currently team possess.
