Club confirms decision on transfer fee for Arsenal prime target, Liverpool linked

While the fans of Arsenal are really bothered about the state of their club, they hope that Arsene Wenger will yield  to the voice of reason and do the needful in the transfer window. Leicester City have named their price on Arsenal target Riyad Mahrez, per reports.

Arsenal have been long linked with a move for the Algerian star but somehow, Arsene Wenger has failed to sanction a deal for the left footer. The Gunners are on the verge of losing Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United and they are looking for a replacement for the Chilean.

Mahrez is about one of the hottest wingers in the Premier League and he has set his sight on joining a bigger club. However, the Foxes manager Claude Puel reckons that the star is having the time of his life  in the midlands and it will take a deal worth “more than £100m” to be able to prise the star out of the King Power Stadium.

Arsenal are not the only club linked with the 26-year-old forward, Liverpool have been heavily linked with signing the star since they sold Phillippe Coutinho to Barcelona.

Puel was quizzed about the possibility of letting the move on and he said:

“Perhaps; maybe in the summer he will cost even more than £100m,” Puel said. It’s just rumours, noise about him.

“We can see Riyad smile, enjoying his football, enjoying to play with his team-mates. After the training session he continues to play, I wanted him to stay rested, but it’s perfect.”

Mahrez was available for about £45million in the summer but Arsenal decided to pull the plug in their chase for him.
