Arsene Wenger seem to be utilising the transfer war-chest of Arsenal to the best of his ‘frugal’ ability. Though he has bolstered his squad with the signing of Sead Kolasinac and Alexandre Lacazette, he has spent just £52million as compared to Man United who have spent over £100million for the transfer of two players.
Arsene Wenger was blameworthy for the shambolic season of Arsenal last term that cost them a place in the transfer window but the French tactician is poised to bounce back with his team next season. He has seen two bids for French star Thomas Lemar rebuffed but Italian journalist Emanuele Giulianelli, has made a claim that the Ligue One holders have agreed to sell the star to Arsenal but on the condition that they meet his £53million valuation, reports the Express.
Arsenal have been credited with interest for former EPL player of the season Riyad Mahrez but we understand that Arsene Wenger has made Thomas Lemar his first choice for the right wing position. Lemar can play from the right or left flank and is highly skillful.
Giulianelli took to twitter to make claims and he twitter that
“Monaco have said they want €60m [£53m] from Arsenal for Lemar,” Giulianelli tweeted.
“Player pushing for the move. Confirmed.”
Since usurping Paris Saint Germain to the Ligue 1 title, Monaco have turned a hunting ground for the top guns of the Premier League. Bernado Silva has already joined Manchester City while Man United have agreed a fee for Tiemoue Bakayoko, with Kylian Mbappe a subject of huge bids from other top Clubs.
