Chelsea vs Arsenal match preview, Team news and probable line-up

The Wembley Stadium will play host to two London giants on Sunday August 6 by 2pm for the Community Shield clash between Chelsea and Arsenal.

Antonio Conte, after winning the Premier League had hoped to win the double in his first season in England, but Arsene Wenger also trying to salvage his side season ensured the Gunners claimed a 2-1 win over their London rivals and won the FA Cup last season.

The two clubs met twice in the Premier League last season with Arsenal claiming a 3-0 victory over Chelsea before Conte switched formation that made them defeated Arsenal in the reverse fixture and won the league with a 30 goal record win.

They have also met twice in the Community Shield in 2005 and 2015 with each club claiming a win respectively. Chelsea have won the Community Shield four times while Arsenal have claimed the trophy 10 more times.

Team News

Both sides have bolstered their team in the current transfer window. Arsenal have signed Aleaxandre Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac while Chelsea have brought in Alvaro Morata, Antonio Rudiger, Willy Caballero and Tiemoue Bakayoko.

Alexis Sanchez is a doubt for Arsenal as to Chilean international will only return to training this week following his extended holiday after featuring in the Confederation Cup for Chile.

Francis Coquelin will not feature after suffering yet another injury in a pre-season match against Chelsea while Shkodran Mustafi is also a doubt.

For Chelsea, new signing Alvaro Morata is unlikely to start after Conte revealed that the player is short of fitness. Eden Hazard and Pedro are out due to injuries while Bakayoko continues to be on be on the recovery pane.
