Chelsea to agree transfer of in-demand playmaker
Former European champions Inter Milan will battle League rivals AC Milan for out of favour Chelsea star Cesc Fabregas during the January transfer window.
The Spanish international has been trimmed out of Sarri’s squad this season and has yet to start for the Blues in the Premier League.
The Italian coach picked Mateo Kovacic, Ross Barkley, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek ahead of the veteran defender to man Chelsea’s centre.
Inter Milan is a long term admirer of the Spaniard. And English outlet The Express stated that the Italian side want to resurrect talks with Chelsea after a reportedly botched move to join The Nerazzurri happened this summer.
But Chelsea could be tempted to sell to rivals Milan. Chelsea are heavily interested in signing Spanish star Suso in January.
The Blues could easily be lured into a swap deal with Milan, one which could see Fabregas jet to the Guizeppe Meazza and Suso to Stamford Bridge in January.
This pose as a huge threat for Inter who have eyed Fabregas as a replacement for Real Madrid star Luka Modric.
Fabregas may remain at the bottom of Sarri’s midfield options this season. The 32-year-old’s return to the field of play is unlikely to crop up.
Fabregas has racked up a 132 Premier League appearances in his Chelsea career at Stamford Bridge.
He is widely regarded as one of the best crops of midfielder to ever emerge from the Premier League.
