Real Madrid will pull all stops to sign Belgium and Chelsea playmaker Eden Hazard.
The Champions League holders are out of their depths and in their wits’ end at salvaging the sloppy start to the season.
Chelsea have been a drag over haggling a fee for Hazard, 27, who’s double for Chelsea, helped them sweep past Hornets Watford at Vicarage Road on Boxing Day, to move two points up, ahead of city rivals Arsenal on the Premier League table.
However, Madrid are willing to sweeten the kitty and are willing to offer Spanish attacker Isco on the table to make for an easy switch for Hazard to the Bernabeu.
Hazard has yet to decide whether he’d commit his future at the club or leave in the summer.
After few near misses in front of goal, the Belgian eventually got on the scoresheet, scoring the Blues opener at first half injury time, only for them to be pegged back by Watford’s leveller.
But the Blues refuse to play on the backfoot and quickly got into the thick of things, throwing their hats over the fence in the second half.
And they got rewarded when Hazard was clipped by Hornets goalkeeper and former England goalkeeper Ben Foster, as ref Martin Atkinson pointed to the spot.
Hazard deftly drove the ball into the back of the net, sending Foster the wrong way.
Hazard wants to be a Chelsea legend, remarked the 27-year-old enthusiastically after being the difference between both sides yesterday night.
