Real Madrid is stumping up wads of cash in a bid to lure Eden Hazard next year, away from Stamford Bridge.
Hazard is contracted until 2020 at Chelsea and gossips milling about have suggested that the 27-year-old is already stalling to pen a deal at the Premier League club.
The playmaker has been the backbone of Chelsea’s attack this term and has immensely flourished under Maurizio Sarri since the Italian took the helm of the outfit from predecessor and fellow compatriot Antonio Conte in the summer.
Hazard should have left Chelsea for Real Madrid in the summer, but revealed he was convinced to stay put at the club.
Chelsea had hoped convincing him to stay, the 27-year-old would consider committing his future at the club. But Hazard is keen on joining Real Madrid with or without Zinedine Zidane.
This is a good thing for Real when their style of play this season has repeatedly been harassed by a plethora of problems this term.
The Spanish outfit want a replacement for Spaniard Isco. The attacker has faced huge criticisms over his negative attitudes this season and the Bernabeu can no longer stomach his ill-behaviour.
A move for Hazard will see Madrid push off Isco. Even better will be using him as a leverage to get Chelsea to lose their grip on Hazard at the turn of the year.
Los Blancos are fourth in the La Liga log.
