Having seen Belgian striker Michy Batshuayi return back to his goalscoring form, Borussia Dortmund are set to sign the player on a permanent deal after completing a loan deal for the Chelsea striker in January, according to report.
The Belgian striker wasted no time in hitting the ground running at the Westfalenstadion as he scored in his debut appearance for the Bundesliga giants. In just three appearances for BVB so far this season, Batshuayi has been directly involved in six goals — five goals and one assist.
There have been reports from both England and Germany that the player could refuse to return back to Chelsea by the end of the current campaign. SportBild suggests that Borussia Dortmund are ready to spend big to sign the player on a permanent deal. They further revealed that they might make a €60m offer to Chelsea to convince the Blues to sanction the player’s move out of Stamford Bridge ahead of the 2018-19 season.
Batshuayi was one of the outfield players who failed to get much playing-time under Antonio Conte this season. The Belgian was largely used as a back up to Alvaro Morata— despite the Spaniard’s recent uninspiring display and injury problems— before he switched to the German side where he is currently being used as their leading striker and goal poacher.
