Antonio Conte has blamed Chelsea woes on the lack of transfer activities at the Club but it appears that we are in for an exciting upcoming summer transfer window.According to latest report, Chelsea are closing in on a deal for Tottenham tough-tackling centre-back Toby Alderweireld.

The Belgian defender has refused to pen a new deal with the Tottenham as they have failed to meet his wage demand and he has found himself on the bench in their recent games. Known for his tackling prowess, the 29-year Belgian defensive stalwart has managed only 10 Premier League appearances this term and he is ready to call time on his spell with Tottenham.

According to Calciomercato, Chelsea will offer €50 million to Tottenham, with a better wage in other to lure him to Stamford Bridge. However, The Blues are in competition for his signature with Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester United.

Chelsea are yet to replace John Terry and Conte does not see David Luis in his long term plans. Alderweireld will perfectly fit into the team of Chelsea along James Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.

Speaking on his form, Pochettino revealed that the Belgian is failing to live up to his bidding, which means they will consider selling him.

“I need to pick the players that I believe are the best players to win against Chelsea and then against Stoke”, the Argentine said. “I cannot play with more than 11 and you need to choose.
“I am agreed that the players need to play and compete but for me, first of all every single player needs to show in the training session that they are better than their team-mate and then at that moment I pick.
