West Ham United are weighing in on a deal for out-of-favour Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater, this is according to reports.
The arrival of Maurizio Sarri in the summer signaled the beginning of the of Drinkwater’s career at Stamford Bridge. Under former boss Conte, the former Man United star was a fringe player but he is yet to start a game for the Blues this season.
He was a key member of Leicester City squad that conquered the Premier League in the 2015-16 season but he does not feature in the plan of Sarri.
The English midfielder has set his sight on quitting Chelsea but his £100k-per-week wages appear to be the major stumbling block to his move away from the West London Club.
Chelsea have valued him to high but some clubs are willing to meet this valuation. However, the player does not want his wage to be lower than what he currently earns.
According to the Daily Mail, West Ham United made an attempt to sign him in the summer and they will do same when the transfer window is re-opened in January.
The Hammers are likely going to face competition for his signature from the likes the Fulham.
