Chelsea are behind the eight ball in signing budding talent Sandro Tonali from Italy in the coming months.
Tonali is racking and heaping up plenty of accolades on his brilliant showoffs in the Serie B for outfit Brescia.
Dubbed as the next “Andrea Pirlo”, Tonali has himself a cluster of top brass clubs to pick from in a pool when the transfer window is flung open in January.
Serie A outfits are keen, and a wrestle for his services already has Brescia demanding for very steep fee.
The second-tier outfit has slapped a 40 million euros price tag on Tonali, and looks unlikely to water down the price given the strings of top outfits in England and Italy that are keen.
Manchester City are in the fray. Inter Milan, Napoli, Roma and Juventus are also eyeing the star on the side.
However, luck has flipped on the side of the English outfits. The Serie A outfits have baulked at the price fee, which leaves duo City and Chelsea still in the chase.
Chelsea could really bulk up their squad and beef up things against the long run of matches next year. But their efforts could see a sudden nosedive, as owner Massimo Cellino wants to sell Tonali to only Italian clubs.
