Antonio Conte may have won the Premier League for Chelsea last term, the Italian tactician has received tongue-lashes for his transfer dealings and the poor start of the Blues in the Premier League.
Conte had bemoaned the dearth of options at the club and he was handed a hefty transfer war-chest and this has now seen the Blues reignited their interest in signing Italian goal poacher Andrea Belotti, according to report.
Mitchy Batshuayi had an impressive pre-season campaign with Chelsea but Conte do not have much confidence in the player to give Alvaro Morata competition and so, he is looking to sign Belotti.
Belotti emerged as a transfer target for Chelsea earlier in the summer but Conte had favoured a move for Morata since he worked with the star while in Juventus.
With Diego Costa currently exiled in Brazil, Conte wants another striker in his team to ensure that he rotates and meet the demands of playing in several competitions.
Belotti has developed into one of the finest striker in the Seria A. Last season, he found the back of the net 26 times in 35 Serie A games and drew attraction to himself from several clubs.
His style of play has seen him drew comparison to Chelsea legend Gianluca Vialli as it is given that he very atletic and has a powerful style of play.
Chelsea have already spent £70m on Morata and they will have to fork out as much as £87.5m to pay the player’s release clause.
