Chelsea may be smarting at the moment over the loss of Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United United. However, if recent reports doing the rounds happen to be true it then means there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Spanish source Dario Gol is reporting that Chelsea are set to do a double deal with Real Madrid this summer. It is claimed that Madrid are finally coming round to the idea of selling the duo of Alvaro Morata and James Rodriguez to the Blues.
The report claims that Chelsea will have to fork out £132m for the duo, but this may be too much a fund to pay for two players.
Both players were strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford but it appears the relationship with their counterparts at Madrid have turned sour. Reports filtered out this week that Mourinho reneged on the agreement which would have seen Morata’s deal go over the line, hence disappointing the player’s camp.
United have turned their attention to Lukaku, with Chelsea now in pole position to sign Morata. However, the report goes on to say that Florentino Perez could also offload Rodriguez also.
The Spanish giants are in need of funds to complete the move for AS Monaco star Kylian Mbappe whose transfer fee is in the coffers of £100 million. Perez will not hear of another player except the 18-year- old who scored 26 goals for Monaco last term, hence it is quite likely that the Madrid duo would be sold to Chelsea in a bid to fund Mbappe’s move to Madrid.
