Nigerian and Chelsea centre-back Kenneth Omeruo has revealed his desire to play in the La Liga next season, per reports.
The 25-year-old star was signed by Chelsea from Standard Liege in the January of 2012 but he has spent his entire time on loan spells at several clubs.
He joined La Liga side Leganes in the summer but he has made only three appearances in the League – two in the La Liga and one in Copa Del Rey.
The Nigerian star is tied to a contract with Chelsea until 2020 but it appears that he will not be handed another deal as he has failed to prove his mettle.
He was quizzed by Somos Lega if he would love to return to the Premier league and he said;
“Mmmm no (laughs). I want to be in Leganés, in Spain. Play and improve here. I would like to continue with Leganés.”
Amidst so much criticism from the fans of Chelsea, the player revealed how the boss of Leganes Mauricio Pellegrino has helped improved his game.
“He is a very interesting person when it comes to work, I respect him very much because he is a legend. He was a great centre-back,” the versatile defender explained.
“I did not have the opportunity to see him play but fortunately people have spoken very well of him. I look at him because he was a great centre-back. Talks a lot with me, teaches me videos and tries to correct my mistakes. That is very important for my performance.”
