Chelsea midfielder hands Antonio Conte transfer request ahead of Arsenal January move

There’s been report of rift between the players of Chelsea and Antonio Conte but to add the manager’s woes, Belgium youngster Charly Musonda has informed the boss of his desire to leave Chelsea in January, this is according to report.

Musonda has struggled to impose himself in the first team of Chelsea this term and he laid bare his frustration on Social Media last month over being on the fringes for the most part of this season – He has struggled to dislodge the likes of Cesc Fabregas, Eden Hazard and even Tiemoue Bakayoko from the midfield of the Blues.

Conte has encouraged him to mature else he wont have a future at Stamford Bridge but the youngster want to play regularly.

Musonda was impressive while on loan with Real Betis last term and he’s currently not short of suitors. However, the Mirror are laying claim to the fact that Arsenal are frontrunners for his signature and they could seal a deal for him in January

Following the tongue-lashes Chelsea received after selling Nemanja Matic to Chelsea, they are unlikely to sell another star player to a direct rival.

Even if Musonda completes a deal with Arsenal, he is unlikely to get a place in the first team of the squad unless Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez are sold in January.

His desire to play regularly is not out of order – Marcos Rashford, Dele Alli and even Kylian Mbappe are starters for their team despite their ages.
