Bayern Munich striker Thomas Muller has emerged a shock target for Premier League clubs Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool, according to reports in Germany.

The Bundesliga champions have already signed signed James Rodriguez on a two-year loan deal from Real Madrid and his arrival at the Allianz Arena could limit Muller’s playing time next season.

The Colombian international did not impress Zinedine Zidane, with the French boss preferring Isco ahead of him in the his selection pecking order.

And with another World Cup around the corner, Rodriguez, who won the Golden Boot at the 2014 World Cup, is guaranteed of playing regularly for the Bundesliga holders, with Muller the likeliest player to be reduced the bench.

According to Sport BILD, the potential availability of Muller could start a bidding war, with the English clubs as well as Italian champions Juventus all interested in his services.

The reports also say the clubs are confident of securing his signature. However, Bayern have maintained that the German forward, who is contracted to them till 2021, remains a Bavarian player next season.

“Thomas is still unsalable because he fits perfectly with FC Bayern. There is no discussion about this”, said Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Bayern Chief Executive.

“But Thomas, as well as we are, are in agreement in the evaluation of the last season: it was not a good one. But that is not a problem either. Thomas also knows that he has to bring a piece more.

Muller’s goal return was poor last season as he scored just five goals.
