Chelsea are ready to offer the Belgian playmaker 300,000-per-week as wages should he pen down a new deal that will commit him to the club. The English club are behind the eight ball in this one, and have sent words out to their scouts to scour for an urgent replacement.
Lyon’s player Nebil Fekir has emerged as his likely replacement. Fekir was close to playing in the Premier League this season when Liverpool was sniffing around the player. Jurgen Klopp side were keen to find the right player to fill Philippe Coutinho’s spot in the team.
The deal however went south when talks veered away from the direction Lyon had hoped it was heading into.
Liverpool tried to pull further strings, but talks were already in the tunnel then.
Maurizio Sarri eyes Fekir as a replacement for Hazard and the club already has the attacker closely monitored. But Chelsea will have to beat off interests from Bayern Munich who are keen on signing Fekir too.
