Chelsea are reportedly in front, in the race for highly valued Fiorentina star Federico Chiesa as the January transfer window is set to get underway.
The Blues reportedly joined the fray after seeing a lodged bid for the 20-year-old from Juventus thrown off the table.
Juventus reportedly tabled 50 million pounds bid for the growing talent but were stunned with disappointed when Fiorentina waved off their interests and put down their bid.
Chelsea face a troubling rival in Manchester United who have registered their interest in the rising star.
However, Chiesa says he has received bids for his services which have all been reportedly put down by Fiorentina.
The Blues lead the race for his signature and have been hugely tipped to secure his services.
Meanwhile, it was mooted Sarri’s former club Napoli want Chiesa added to their ranks. Chiesa boasts of a high valuation that can cripple Napoli’s purse.
This could force Napoli to pull out of the race the 20-year-old, giving Chelsea a big boost in the chase for the Italian.
Chiesa found the back of the net six times last season, racking a small sum of nine assists last season.
Sarri signed Kepa Arrizabalaga, Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic this summer to bolster the middle of the park.
Chelsea clinched the top spot of the Premier League after their 4-1 rout of Cardiff City on Saturday.
The star is valued at £40.50m according to transfermarkt.
