It is no longer a pedalling rumour that Chelsea are looking for a manager who can step into Maurizio Sarri’s shoes should the former Napoli boss fail to convince Chelsea’s hierarchy why he should be kept beyond this season.
Sarri recently came under fire after Chelsea were dumped out of the FA Cup, and next, suffered a battering at the hands of Premier League holders Manchester City last month.
Chelsea glided easily past a number of Premier League teams last term to maintain their fourth spot on the table, but have been pegged back by shocking draws and disgraceful defeats this better half of the competition.
The heat was cranked up few notches after Blues struggled to grab a win at home against Nuno Espirito’s Wolves.
Blues may turn to the 45-year-old Wolves boss to lead them into the new season if Blues keep churning out bad results under Sarri revealed report from Daily Star.
With just few games left to play, Nuno will end the season on a high after successfully helping them further up, past the Premier League mid-table.
And what has Chelsea crawling over him is his winning formula, mixed with a blend of entertainment and adventure.
Chelsea travel to Ukraine on Thursday for the return leg of the Europa League round-of -16 tie to take on Dynamo Kiev. Blues are already in pole position in that clash, winning 3-0 in previous leg at Stamford Bridge.
