Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has received so much plaudits for leading Chelsea to the Premier League title with the FA Cup trophy also in sight. So much expectation is now laid on the Italian tactician and his team as they prepare to feature in more competitions next season.
The Blues have a history of spending big in the transfer market as compared to rival Clubs. Conte has managed to conquer the League with only a few stars and that can be attributed to the fewer competitions they starred in.
With the need of bolstering the squad apparent, Chelsea have been heavily linked with a move for various players but former striker and Everton goal poacher Romelu Lukuku and Southampton Centre-back Virgil van Dijk appear to be making headlines as prospective Chelsea players, per the telegraph.
Lukaku had earlier revealed that he wants a move away from Everton at the end of this season with Chelsea as he most probable destination. Everton have slapped a £90m price tag on the player which is a tad too much methinks.
The transfer market is currently heavily inflated but £90m surpasses the amount United got Paul Pogba for last summer. That amount could be spent for two world class players you know, as it would be reckless for Chelsea to pay such sum for only Lukaku.
Lukaku is currently the leading scorer of the Premier League with 24 goals but the Toffees final game against Arsenal might determine if he’ll win the Golden Boot award or not. Sanchez is also in the running for the same award with 23 goals.
Meanwhile, Virgil van Dijk has been linked with a move to Liverpool and Chelsea but according the most popular football prediction, Chelsea are in pole position to secure a deal for the tough tackling Dutch centre-back.
van Dijk is seen as a long term replacement for John Terry, who has revealed that he might hang his boots at the end of this season.
