Chelsea battle Tottenham to sign top-notch Bundesliga striker – not Lewandowski

Chelsea have entered the race with Tottenham to sign rising Hamburg star striker Jann-Fiete Arp, this is according to report.

The 18-year-old striker joined Hamburg from SV Wahlstedt in 2010 and steadily ascended the grades of the Club. He broke into the first team of the Bundesliga side this season and he has attracted several clubs to himself following the prospect he has shown – he played in 16 games for Hamburg in the Bundesliga and has scored two goals.

His sudden rise to fame and stardom has been noticed in the Premier League with Tottenham thought to be front-runners for his signature afte he idolized Harry Kane. However, emerging reports from BILD have indicated that Chelsea are in pole position to sign him.

Arp will run out of his current contract after next season and Hamburg may just cash him on him . With the club currently looking like they will be relegated, the youngster will certainly consider furthering his career away from the club.

He may consider joining Tottenham as they give opportunities to young players unlike Chelsea, who have preferred to field experienced footballers.

He is valued for a paltry £6.75m fee according to transfermarkt.
