Chelsea battle Tottenham for the signature of exciting South-American midfielder

Chelsea and Tottenham are in great competition to get the services of Watford’s Brazilian midfielder, Richarlison in January.

The performance of the midfielder for Watford has been impressive and Watford manager Marco Silva, is afraid of losing him to top teams in Europe, especially in English Premier League.

According to Marco Silva, the most important thing is for players to put in extra efforts while playing for the club.

“While they are at Watford they need to give 100 per cent,” Marco admitted.

To the boss, the club interest should be the first thing in the minds of his players, then anything can follow up in terms of personal interest.

“I want everyone in the club to work hard and if they achieve something else in their careers, then that’s normal. I’m realistic,” he said.

Tottenham’s performance has been underwhelming since the return of the League from the November international break. They have been defeated by Arsenal and Leicester.

Harry Kane has only managed to score a single goal in three games and the boss, Mauricio Pochettino might add Richarlison to his squad in January.

Chelsea are also monitoring the progress of the player and could be added to the west London club in the winter or summer transfer window.

Watford signed Richarlison on a five-year deal on 8th of August 2017

He has featured in all Watford games this season and has scored four goals since joining the club in the summer.
