Chelsea agree €35m deal with La Liga giants for South-American defender

While the Blues fans have turned their attention to Chelsea’s pursuit for Tiemoue Bakayoko and a Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Antonio Conte seem to be executing his transfer plan in stages.

The Blues confirmed the signing of Antonio Rudiger from AS Roma but they have turned their attention to the Santiago Bernabeu but this time for the signature of Brazil born right back Danilo.

According to Spanish newspaper Marca, Chelsea have agreed to a fee in the region of  £31.2m [€35m] and the player is keen on the Stamford Bridge move.

Danilo is currently out of favor with Madrid and the report claims Zidane will be happy to allow the Brazilian depart Santiago Bernabeu. Meanwhile, Victor Moses currently has no competition for the right back position and Conte is looking to strengthen the right wing of his team.

The Spanish newspaper made further claims that Danilo’s decision to quit Real Madrid stems from his desire to nick a place regular place for the Samba boys of Brazil ahead of the world Cup in Russia next summer. However, his attacking prowess will make it difficult for him to displace Victor Moses in that position even if the deal pulls through for him.’

Chelsea were given a transfer punch over their chase for Romelu Lukaku but Conte now appears to be shoring up his activities in time for their pre-season tour.

To digress a bit, Bakayoko is understood to have landed London for his medical with Chelsea and it might only be a few hours before a confirmation is made.
