Chelsea are looking to bolster their squad ahead of next campaign but they are also ready to trim back the squad that won the Premier League two seasons ago.
Defender Davidde Zappacosta did not make the exclusion list and will be struck out of the club’s defensive options next summer.
According to thesportreview, as quoted by Sky Sports News, Inter Milan have registered their interests in the 26-year-old and are hugely enthusiastic about bringing him to the San Siro this summer.
Chelsea feel the nudge to sell him off at a lesser price claims the same report.
Zappacosta arrived from Italian outfit Torino last summer and is contracted at the club until 2021. Chelsea will sell him for £17.5 million, a few million pounds shorter than he was acquired for last summer.
Chelsea ended fifth-place in the Premier League last term and crashed out of the 2017-2018 Champions League last-16, losing to Serie A outfit AS Roma.
The Blues are reportedly eyeing a number of candidates in the window the likes of Lewandoski, Lyon’s Tanguy N’Dombele, including a rumoured “perfect replacement” for Antonio Conte. Conte has been verbally criticise harshly for his style of tactics and is believed to have lost the trust of some of the big names in the dressing room.
So far, they haven’t made any significant step in the market.
