Chelsea have mostly played through this season with 14 players, with Cech Fabregas and Willian as the only quality fringe players, Antonio Conte is now looking to add some quality players to his ranks.
According to Calciomercato Chelsea have been locked in talks with Monaco in a bid to secure a deal for French defensive midfielder Tiemoue Babayoko.
Following his impressive cameos for the Ligue one side, Babayoko is on the transfer radar of several European giants including Manchester United and Chelsea but it is the Blues who are leading the race for his signature.
Conte has been been an admirer of the 22-year-old midfielder and it is widely alluded that he will complete a midfield trio with kante and Matic or even give an option to Kante from the bench. The Blues are limited in midfield choices.
The former Rennes midfielder made his debut for Monaco in 2014 but he is currently enjoying the form of his life this term. He has starred very often for Leonardo Jardim this term, leading them to the semi-final of the UCL.
Chelsea are favourite to win the Premier League and FA Cup and this is enough reason to lure any player to Stamford Bridge. Should the deal pull through, Babayoko will be one among several star expected to join Chelsea next summer.
